Wild herbs
Mugwort
Leaves, flowers and seeds can be used in moderate quantities. People with mugwort allergy should be aware of reactions. The leaves can be used as an herb from April to June, and flowers and seeds as a spice later in the year. Its spicy aroma works well in many meat dishes or with tomato. Mugwort can be dried and placed on the shelf next to dried oregano. The fresh tender leaves can be used e.g. with fish. Mugwort is found at field edges, on beaches, waste ground and meadows. It stands semi-tall from July with a greyish hue and its reddish-brown flower heads. The leaves are dark green on top and greyish underneath.
